Multimedia Workstation (Supportive-Employment)

An Inclusive Livelihood & Employment Ecosystem

Multimedia Workstation is a flagship project under the Jigyasa – Livelihood & Skilling Initiative of Jigyasa Charitable Trust (JCT). It is an inclusive and replicable livelihood model designed for individuals with Autism, Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD), and diverse learning needs, helping them build meaningful careers through creative and multimedia work.

The initiative creates an inclusive work environment where special needs youth and adults collaborate alongside neurotypical peers and mentors on real-world multimedia assignments, fostering confidence, employability, financial participation, and social inclusion.

Projects are sourced through industry partners, businesses, NGOs, and institutions, enabling trainees to gain practical work experience in a structured and supportive setting.
Each workstation is guided by a supervisor, who coordinates projects, supports execution, ensures quality standards, and helps create sustainable earning opportunities for participants.

Why It Matters

Many individuals with Autism and IDD face challenges in mainstream work environments due to communication, social, or workplace adaptation barriers. Multimedia Workstation bridges this gap by offering a safe, structured, and inclusive ecosystem where participants can learn, work, earn, and grow with dignity.

Impact Since 2017

Since 2017, this initiative has supported special needs individuals across multiple cities, including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Lucknow.

Many participants are now engaged in meaningful livelihood opportunities, while some have even started their own enterprises, creating opportunities for others within the special needs community.

Multimedia Workstation demonstrates that individuals with Autism and IDD can successfully meet professional standards when provided with the right ecosystem, mentorship, and opportunity.
